There’s this boss new lp what went downstairs one morning for breakfast (if you will) & was sold out by dinner. Yep, entire print run-gone. In a day. There’s a perfectly good reason for that, folks.
Not many was pressed.
Sticks & stones aside, it’s a pretty goddamn great lp to boot. The overall vibe is a Post-Art damage, the kind what shows a band who evoke a language that presciently connects their place within the dystopian, miasmic, urbanity they call home. The NY/No Wave had it. The Bern scene’ve Glueams & Grauzone did too. And if you knowed the locale (Detroit) & the participants (Shelley Salant, Emily Roll, Claire Cirocco) then it wouldn’t come as a total surprise that there’s disambiguation of Boyer-like structuring alongside Mach One era Destroy All Monsters form & content filling these grooves. You can’t really bust on the label for such a short run. It’s a fickle old world these days. Hell, there might not even be 100 more people out there that care. But that don’t mean you can’t ask.
